We communicate league info (like rainouts and weekly scores) to you via tweets (text messages) to your cell phone.  This way you get info in a timely manner wherever you are at the moment. We will not over burden you with messages (usually two a week depending on weather, etc).

Bear in mind the type of cell phone plan you have and what you are charged for text messages. Most people today have unlimited text messaging plans. Scroll up to see the types of messages that are delivered to your phone.  The same messages get delivered right here on the website too!
 

NOTE: During registration below, you may be asked to send or text to a "twitter" code. In the United States, the twitter code is a  5 digit number: 40404. Instead of texting to a 7 or 10 digit phone number, you just text to the 5 digit twitter code.

1. Sign up here - Twitter Signup (make your screen bigger left to right so you can see all the menu options)
2. Make sure you are logged in. If not, login here: http://twitter.com (click signin on top right)
3. Directions to add your cell phone number to twitter:

   •  Have your cell phone by your side, you will need it!
   • Watch this video from the beginning till about 45 seconds into loop to see what you have to do. Rewind the video and now get ready to follow it.
   • Go to your twitter screen after you have logged in and follow the steps in the video
   • Your first step from the video is to click on "settings" of the pull down menu on the top right of your screen
   • Follow the directions on the video.  Basically you will click "mobile" next and fill out the page
   • At some point, it will ask you about texting "go" from your cell phone to "40404".  This is the security check that you are sending messages to your OWN phone.  Instead of texting to a 10 digit phone number like 516-888-7777, you will text "go" to a 5 digit number "40404". No spaces or dashes.
   • You should get a response that your phone is all set up.
4. Now you need to follow "othgny" so you can get messages on your phone from us:

   • Watch this video from about 40 to 46 seconds and "pause" the video.
   • You will see that they click on "home".  You should do this on your screen.
   • Then on the next screen, click on "who to follow"...
   • Then in the search box enter "othgny" and click enter
   • Then choose to "FOLLOW" othgny
   • Click on the othgny logo and you should see a "very" small telephone button to the right of the "FOLLOWING" area. Make sure it is green and click to make green if it is not.
   • Watch the rest of the video to see what I am talking about and how to click on this "little" phone to turn it green.
   • If you don't get this step right, then messages will NOT be sent to your phone and will only be sent to your online computer account.
5. You should be good to go!

How do you know it's working...

In the beginning of each season, we will send out "test" messages for new signups/league members once or twice a week.

During the season: On Fridays, you should be notified of the game schedules or any game cancellations via a tweet to your phone.  Over the weekend, you should be notified of "scores" from Friday night's games via a tweet to your phone.
