The "Reilly Cup" is Awarded to...
On March 7th, 2008 the "Over The Hill Gang" hosted its annual awards
night function at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Farmingdale. It was
a special night as OTHG League President and Founder Jim Reilly was
awarded a Town of Oyster Bay Citation recognizing 30 years of service
to the community. Supervisor John Venditto hosted the festivities
along with Councilwoman Rose Marie Walker.
Jim has certainly worked tirelessly with the Town and the League
to give many "kids" over the age of "40" the opportunity to play organized
softball. Friday nights at Allen Park have certainly become a
fond tradition.
In addition, the inaugural "Reilly Cup" was presented to Granny
O'Shea's as the 2007 Tournament Champions. Past champions are
inscribed on the trophy and each year the "Cup" will pass to the league's
newest champion.
Congratulations to Jim and good luck to all the teams in the upcoming
year.
